My writing and art are inspired by the scenes, stories, and flavors of my past and present. As an Asian Latina (Chinese Mexican American), I navigate the cultures that shape my creative work and fuel a strong desire for more representation in the publishing and literary worlds. I live in Ohio with my 3-year-old daughter and sweet basenji dog. My Mexican American mother, my daughter's abuelita, drives her 18-wheeler truck all across America and has inspired my first picture book.

I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology and teach part-time at the Ohio State University, Mansfield. The balance of mothering, teaching, tutoring, home-building, writing, and painting is a constant tightrope. I don't get it all done, but every new day is a journey and every night, delicious and dulce, is a wish come true.
